Things I don't borrow: toothbrush, underwear and ABC gum. However, I'm proud of you for taking a shower every week.... whether you need it or not. :-)

I also wanted all non-toxic items on my baby registry, and as many organic/eco-friendly things as possible. Ultimately, I ended up registering on a website called myregistry.com that allows you to add things to your registry from any store you want, because I found that there was no way to build this kind of registry from just one or two stores (trust me, I tried!).

Lol! What snotty UT, and I love the exchange between her and your mom like you weren't even there! I think Matilda is the CUTEST name, and she will totally become her name. People are so ridiculous with their opinions. I mean, I named my oldest Connor (unaware it was uber popular only to be found out later), and my grandmother said she had never heard of it before! Really?! People will think what they think--screw 'em! :)

It's a real challenge presenting information about all the scenarios that could happen...and helping you stay calm and confident. It's good to know what could happen....but it's also important to know that the scary things shouldn't be happening as often as they are. And what you can do to up your chances of avoiding all those medical interventions unless you really, really need them....and that's a small percentage of women.

Life is full of risks but somehow we manage to get from day to day pretty happy and healthy...with no mishaps. Nature does a very good job with pregnancy and birth. You are growing your baby beautifully and there is no reason to think that you will not give birth simply and easily. Read the book and you'll be able to put being scared in perspective...and keep reminding yourself what a great job you are doing.
